学術変革領域研究（A）マルチモダルECM第3回領域会議（第2回Fusion meeting）が令和6年7月24日から26日にかけて，北海道のルスツリゾートで開催されました．新たに公募班が加わり、計画班と合わせて総勢88名の参加があり，領域アドバイザーによる特別講演（2件）や研究発表，ポスター発表を行いました．懇親会会場とポスター発表会場を同じ場所にしたこともあり、懇親会中もポスター前で非常に活発にディスカッションが行われました．また，共同研究推進を目的にFusion meetingも開催しました．各研究者の個々の研究の問題点の解決や，領域の目標に向けた共同研究の創出，支援体制の構築がより一層広がり，領域内チームワークが強化されました．
また，ポスター発表した若手研究者の中から「ポスター賞」が3名（Best Poster Award 1名、Poster Award 2名）に贈呈されました．第3回領域会議における受賞者は以下の通りです．

学術変革AマルチモダルECM第2回領域会議（第１回Fusion meeting）が令和6年1月30日から31日にかけて，千葉県の山間にあるリソルの森で開催されました．計画班を中心に総勢54名の参加があり，森の中の静謐な雰囲気の中で，活発な熱い議論が交わされました！
会議は副題「Fusion meeting」と銘打ち，セミナー発表形式ではなく，ポスター発表ならびにグループワークを中心としたディスカッション方式にて，共同研究推進を目的に進められました．各研究者の個々の研究の問題点の解決や，領域の目標に向けた共同研究の創出，支援体制の構築がより一層広がり，領域内チームワークが強化されました．
また，ポスター発表した若手研究者の中から「若手発表者賞」が2名に贈呈されました．第2回領域会議における受賞者は以下の通りです．

第1回 マルチモーダルECM Fusion Workshop を開催しました．
日時：2025年1月29日（水） 12:30-
会場：理化学研究所生命機能科学研究センター 発生再生研究棟C棟1階オーディトリウム
当日は，Fusion Workshopの名の通り非常に多岐に渡る内容の講演が行われ，密度が高く有意義なディスカッションを行うことができました．オンラインで常時40名程度，オンサイトで30名程度が領域の内外から集まり，企業や官公庁の方々からもご聴講頂きました．異分野の講演を聞くことで，実験の幅が大きく広がる予感にワクワクすると同時に，まだまだ学ぶべきものが多いということを実感する良い機会になリました．総合討論では，現状のマトリゲルの課題や現状打開に必要なものは何かということについて活発に議論が行われました．そのポテンシャルの高さから，この融合領域がこの先ますます重要視されていくことが強く感じられます．今後も本領域において継続して融合の議論・共同研究を遂行し，本領域を発展させていきたいと思います．

概要：
近年，細胞外マトリックス（ECM）は従来考えられていたよりも遥かに動的な物質であり，多細胞システムの自己組織化や器官の形づくりといった複雑で動的な生命現象を支えていることが少しずつ明らかになってきました．今後，ECMをさらに理解するためには，従来の枠組みを超えた融合的な視点が必要となります．本シンポジウムでは，細胞・発生生物学者と材料科学者が生体構成材料であるECMについて議論し合い，ECMの本質を探求しました．

概要：
細胞外マトリックス(ECM)分子の発見からその機能解析に追われた1900年代後半，生化学的な解析も進み，その実態解明が完了したかに思われました．しかし近年，解析技術の革新により，ECMの新しい実態が明らかになりつつあります．『細胞の挙動や運命を支配する，高度に組織化された細胞外環境はどのように制御されているのか?』本シンポジウムでは，この問いに答えるべく，ECMの新しい実態解明に挑戦し続ける研究者たちにECM研究の現状と展望を語って頂き，ECM研究の課題と展望を議論する機会を提供しました．長年ECM研究を牽引している研究者や中堅，若手の研究者が一同に会し，次のブレイクスルーとなる熱い議論を行いました．
